Some arcade systems like the Namco ES3 Board, have a few well-beloved titles such as Mario Kart Arcade GP DX and Pokkén Tournament and many others, that require a “Banapass” (short for Banapassport), which is Bandai Namco’s old proprietary arcade membership card system, all in order to save your game progress. This system worked well in the early 2000’s. However, while the games still play great, the system itself is now outdated, and the once vibrant Bandai servers have long since shut down.

In an effort to get these games working how they used to, some services have chosen to emulate Bandai’s Banapassport specifically for certain titles, but not for others. This is a temporary stop gap solution, and while it does work, these services have chosen to lock the user into paying for a subscription JUST to play and save those games only. But surely with today’s technology and infrastructure, we can do better than that. Thus in considering what the community has been asking for, we have decided to go big, and to go far beyond everyone else…

As such, Ultra Loader is proud to announce the creation of the “Bananapass” (yes, you read that right) a newly created arcade game passport card that will work with games like Mario Kart and Pokken Tournament…and also do so much more. Users will no longer need an emulated Namco Banapass, which only emulates Bandai’s outdated and unsupported services. Instead, we will create our own that works for ALL games. This is the way.

Ultra Loader’s Bananapass will be a new way to save your arcade game stats locally…and later, through fully optional supported physical hardware and a cheap monthly cloud sync infrastructure that does NOT lock your games into Ultra Loader, or any other loader for that matter. This is a new universal service, and you will now have a modern and complete home for ALL your arcade game saves, scores and game profile needs, directly linked to Ultra Loader or any other supported arcade games launcher you wish to use. To get your card, all you need to do is enter your preferred email, pick a username and a 4-digit PIN. That’s it. Once you choose your card design and the card is issued, your card is saved to Ultra Loader’s servers so you can retrieve it any time.
